idmax vs. ssa icon

i currently own a 12" idmax v3.d2. i just recently got to listen to a pair of 10" ssa icons. my question is, how does the 12" ssa icon compare to the idmax as far as SPL and SQ. i like the idmax's ability to have sq and a bit of spl but i am itching for some more spl so i either will get a new box for the idmax or sell it and get a ssa icon... whats your guy's take?

What did you think of the iCONS? Was it louder than your idmax? I ran the iCONS sealed and I thought they sounded absolutely amazing.

well they were 2- 10"s and running with approximately 750 watts apiece.. so of course they sounded louder. compared to my single 12 with only 400 watts with a dying battery lol.

i wanna know if you put a single 12 next to another single 12 how they compare...

I would imagine they would be very close in output. Hopefully someone that has used both can give you a better answer. What box are you using right now for the idmax?

Personally i liked the icon more than the idmax, oz audio me, and cvx. And yes ive heard all three in different size ported boxes.

I'd have to recommend the IDMAX.

It's a long story, but apparently, the Icon really doesn't do as well in the applications that I thought it did. I can't base my opinions off a modified driver if other people are using unmodified ones.
