Idea's on some 8 inch speakers

Well I believe I have enough room inside the door panels to put an 8 inch sub. I plan to use the sub for mid bass/mid range. I will be walling 6 12's in a wall in the truck. I have plenty of tweeters for the highs. But I don't want to do door pods for the truck because the door panel is odd. so its gotta be something inside the door. So i'm looking to use an 8 to get as much voice as I possibly can. I am like I said pretty sure I can fit about 7 inches behind the door skin. and I'm almost 100% sure an 8 willl fit in there. So any ideas?

Sub and voice don't go together!

I got some Dayton RS225's in decent shape(small dings from moving them around all the time nothing major) with some rings I made for them. Give me 80 bucks and I'll ship all of it to you!

The ring are 3.25 deep with rubber undercoating on em.

nah I really don't want to do pods because to make the door look finished i would have to glass the entire door. and thats just not something I wanna do. The doors are just a pain. and to cover the door skin in something would be almost impossible. Also considering its a DD and as rough as I am on my vehicles an entire door glasses would be screwed up quick. I'm just thinking of taking an 8 and using it in place of a 6.5 inch driver in a 2 way component setup.

Look into SLS 8" drivers. They're supposed to be really good mid-bass. Couple those with some mid-high and tweets / horns and you should have a nice little set up.

Personally, I would go for a pair of 8" Eminence Alphas and bridge them on the front 2 channels of the amp.

Thats just me though, everyone else hates Eminence.

lol I've used pro audio in alot of vehicles. Infact i've even used the speakers you see in like walmart for their pa systems. the white circle speakers. they are an 8 inch mid/bass woofer with a 1-1/4 tweeter. works great in the doors and they have a great efficenty. I mean about 102 or 103 db's I think lol.
