ideas on how to make the terminals of my box.

i was thinkin of a bolt thru the wall of the box and 2 nuts on the outside. so that the nut closest to the mdf would hold the bolt tight and then the other nut would tighten up to the other one to keep the leads from the amp tight to the bolt (which the leads inside the box are hooked to)

any other ideas?

that seem like it would give you the best connection. You could direct wires from your subs to your amp via a hole in the box and seal it up with silicone or something simillar.

hdc3 18...10(or small 8) gauge direct connect leads....so hard to put 2 8 gauge wires into an 8ga opening unless i use a 4 to 8 gauge reducer...but i was think the other way would be simpler for daily to comp switch.

how are you trying to wire the sub up?

1 ohm for comps and 4 ohm for daily.

so if the subs are dvc, put 2 pair of bolts per sub and when you want to change the wiring you don't have to remove the subs from enclosure.

do it like this and just wire the tops (positive) together then to the amp, and then the bottoms (negative) then to the amp for PARALLEL, 1 ohm

series is hard to explain without pics so ill just leave the parallel info for now

I do that myself most of the time. works great and is cheap and solid.

I use the bolt thru with these details: Use brass or stainless bolts to prevent corrosion, large washers on both sides and epoxy on the bolts where they pass thru the box to further prevent them from turning as you tighten the nuts. More importantly rather than just drilling thru the box, decide where you want the terminals and cut out a 3"x3" opening and then on the INSIDE of the box glue and screw(or staple) a 4"x4" piece that covers the opening, effectively countersinking the bolt attachment area. This makes for a neater look and prevents physical damage or shorting across the terminals. satwilson
