hmm being u asking for an efficient box isuggest 6th order parallel tuned bandpassI have (2) 18" RE MT's on the way and have allready decided that I'm not going to have any more rear seats in my 2dr blazer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I want to create a very effecient box since I'm only going to have 1800rms per sub for right now.
Should I completly remove my rear seats and build a wall or should I just fold the seats down and do a CRX?
Size & port area?
I was thinking about taking the seats out and after looking it over I don't need to remove them right now to still be able to wall it off.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Wall
No, it wasn't dumb, it was a smart decision to do what I did. Anyways I allready answered that a couple posts ago...x2..that was kinda dumb..fully loaded btl is louder then a MT..
well i dont have sketchupLOL, 80 you allways have some badass ideas. I like the sound of it.
Can you draw up a quick sketch of what it would look like so i can visualize it.
Doesnt have to be exact or anything just a quick, Thanks!
yea all u gotta do is figure out 10cubes tuned to 32hz with 120 square inches of port and the front chamber 6 cubes tuned to 75hz with 300square inches of portSweet, that would be sick!!!
I'm going to start working on that design in sketchup tonight.
Any more opinions guys?
if u want to make it bigger go ahead...hell if u can do 15cubes for rear chamber and 10cubes for the front chamber thats fine..u will just have more low end authoritySince I only have 30" for height I'm not going to be able to have the 18's stacked on top of each other, they will have to be side by side or offset in to fit correctly, but I don't think this will effect anything.
Once I figure out the port length tuning and box dimensions tonight I'll post them up so you all can review them.
Should I make either chamber bigger?
The plan is both 18's in shared 10cuft ported rear chamber with 120square inchport tuned to 32hz playing into a shared 6cube ported area with 300 square inch port tuned to 75hz?
I have alot of depth to work with for more cuft so let me know. Thanks!
I guess that makes sense then, and if your doing a wall the MTs would do better. Hopefully the tinsel leads can take the power, because mine just blew and lit my spider on fire. The BTL I was running was a 2 ohm DVC, The MT's are 1 ohm DVC. If I was to get another 2ohm DVC BTL I'd hafta run .5 ohm or 2 ohm. With the MT's I can get a 1ohm load which is perfect for my amp. Plus I picked up (2) freshly reconed MT's for $550 total, which is pretty much the cost of a new Fully Loaded BTL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
