both subs are ID12v3 d4's that were bought brand spanking new at cardomain.

ill try and let the pics speak for itself first:

subwoofer #1:

subwoofer #2:

notice that subwoofer #1 had a mixup with the positive and negative speaker terminal only on the left hand side. the right side of the terminals were fine and color matched. but on the LEFT hand side speaker terminal set, the black pin sported the "red" wire loop that sits underneath the sub. whereas the red pin sported the "black" wire loop.

i dont know whether i should wire it up by the pin colors on the terminal or by viewing thru the red/black wire cover inside the sub? i will be emailing image dynamics regarding this issue. i know there are kicker tech's here (polecat) and maybe have a chance for an ID dealer that posts here if so, i would please like to hear your opinion:)

9V is fine, plus the posts at the top of it makes it easy to touch both terminals

With a AA you would have to get some wire then fiddle with it to get it on the posts then the terminals.

wow thats odd, i dont know i guess your best bet is emailing them
Good luck, I have called Image 3 times in the last 3 weeks trying to get a RA# for an IDMax 12. They say every time to call back the next week because they are moving in to new facilities. I expect to hear the same next week.

a AA battery didnt work but the 9v battery sure did. turned out the push terminals were colored wrong and it was accurate by the wire color that sits under the sub cone.

thanks eldorado:thumbsup:

AA battery works fine. I just did this test 6 days ago. And yes although it is a little awkward, it is still safer than putting 9v into your new speakers. 1.5 volts makes a speaker jump pretty good already.
