ID Max vs FI Q

Q will take more power, should get louder and be alot more

durable - however 1 CF is too small I would guess for The Q and prolly the ID...

My Q arrived today......Review to follow

I'll reply since I've actually owned both

IDMAX -

Pros - sounds great, good build quality

Cons - touchy and fragile do not over power

Fi Q

Pros - sounds awsome, good build quality

Cons - I didn't find any

These are just my opinons

I would pick the Q even in the 1 cube. I put mine in a 1 cu.ft. box on 1100'ish watts and it sounded great.

Not to ruin the thread, but I would take my Phoenix Gold Ti12D Elite over both of those. I have never owned the IDMax, but I have owned the Fi Q. To give an explanation of why I like the Ti12D over the Q via typing, just wouldn't make sense. I put them both in a sealed box (1.3 CUF), and the SQ was great from both, nice and crisp, but the Ti12D just seemed to hit much harder. The excursion ability of the Q is absolutely stunning at times though.

now that i think about i will probably go with 1.3 cuft. i was set on the ID but now i am more confused than ever. i am also thinking of going a ZX1000 instead of the PDX. decisons decisions!!!!

ID no doubt... so what the FI takes more power? it NEEDs more power.. ID has way more cone area and 3mm off on xmax.. the efficiency more than makes up for it...
ID's dont hang.....Search around,look for the

"I Blew my IDMAX threads" they are littered all over

car audio messageboards-- right next to the usual

My HU is making crazy bussing noises,oh yea its a Pioneer....

Ya along with the I turn my gain all the way up for more power and my subwoofer fried threads. IDmax>Q. The Q is worth it for the money but if u got the change than try the Max.

Unless you own both ID and Q

you cant compare......

Have you owned both and done a comparison

I am pretty sure the Q will get louder and lower

than an ID but I dont give a crap,I never owned

an ID and never will.......Id rather run my TDX than

a tempermental ID

i own both the TDX, and the Q, For SQ, hands down the TDX/D9. The Q sounds good too and get really loud and low, but it sounds a littly "tubby" at times. Dont own an Idmax, but one day i would like to try it out.

I was in the same boat... IDMax of Fi Q. I went with the Q, for the reason I just can't see myself spending $450 (on ebay) for the IDMax. The Q was $260 too my door, that is what made up my mind. If I am not happy with the Q then I will sell it for something else.
