Hey everybody,
I haven't really been very far into car audio before but have always had a "system" in my car.
I enjoy listening to the full range of frequencies and having a nice balanced tonal quality to the music, as well as having high volume capabilities for driving around with windows down.
I just want to show everyone my start here and hopefully I'll be learning a lot from this forum as I plan the next part of my build.
First my car is a 2011 Altima coupe and I bought it new a year ago. In the last month I've made a lot of changes to the audio system.
I did a full install of the older Pioneer AppRadio with backup cam, bluetooth mic, nav antenna, iPhone/iPod cables, steering wheel controls module, and manual parking brake bypass switch:
Next I started this big custom corner box project and installed a Kenwood 500x1 mono amp wired at 2ohms to a 3rd gen Alpine Type R 12" sub:
Finally I installed an alpine MRP-f300 amp under my dash and have it wired 50x4 to a set of 4ohm 6x9's in the rear deck (cheapy pioneers) and than wired in series to two pairs of 2ohm OEM speakers (2 6.5s and 2 3.5s in the dash)
My eventual plan is to pick a nice set of components and wire them bridged off the amp at 150 watts per channelx2 and mount the tweeters in the dash in the factory 3.5" location. The cheap 6x9s will be powered by the head unit and I guess some bass blockers will have to be wired up.
I'm not sure what components I want yet although I want a good balance of quality and volume. I want a silk/soft dome tweeter as I get very fatigued listening to ridiculously high or loud tweet sets. I Listen to a full range of all musical types, from the dirtiest rap to Mozart no.40 etc.
I had a set of type r components in the past and I was never too happy with the midbass although they really werent mounted correctly and I never deadened the doors or amplified them.
I'm also looking at HAT components.
Any critiques, questions, or component suggestions would be great!
