To cut the story short, I'll be doing a IB setup ehidn the rear seats. Question is which sub(s) shoudl I use?

IDQV1 or V2 15 (2)

IDQV3 15 (2)...whenever they come out next month.

Atlas 15 (2)

Avalanche (1)

IDQV2 12 (2)

IDmax 12 (1)

or something else?

My initial plan was to just use some "fill in" sub(s) for now and then maybe replace it with the next IDQ 15s that might be coming out next month. Since this will be a more of an permanent setup, I only have one chance to do it so I can't make the baffle for one 15 then try to put a single 15 or 12s in and vice-versa. What do you guys recommend as a good permanent solution? Thanks in advance!

I find this post rather silly on a couple of fronts:

- If you're intention is to "finish" your setup with a driver that is due out next month, why not just wait for it to be released and save yourself a bunch of cash?

- If your "finished" setup is going to house new IDQ 15's you obviously know what the parameters of the driver will be. If you're dead set on an interim driver why not simply match up the parameters? Why ask folks in an open forum what you should choose?

- Your last sentence seems to blow the whole topic away - you plan to get the IDQ 15's when they release next month for your permanent solution, but then you ask at the end which subs to go with in a permanent solution. Which is it?

1. Because I need a temporary solution. It was my INTITIAL solution, not FINALIZED. I'm not dead set on them YET. Thats why I listed some possible drivers I can land my hands on. Also, luckily maybe someone has tried the same aplication as me and can share their experience. Moreover, it is pure speculation that ID will be launching them next month. I was told a possibility of next month. Nothing is official yet. Editied my initial post, savvy?

2. Because no sort of info. is released on the new IDQs yet, hence I'm PLANNING to go with them in the future. If you look at the new IDQ and V2 or V1, there is a difference in the basket which MIGHT be a problem when swapping.

3. I said I was PLANNING. Not like I have them here with me. This is my first IB setup so trying to ask for opinions. Not smart comments. Everyone learns eventually. And by saying permanent solution, I meant which sub(s) and size do YOU guys recommend, not something I WANT.

Thanks for your help.

My comments ARE smart. If you want recommendations, here are mine:

- I suggest that you do some research and choose the best driver for your environment, setup, requirements and budget. Simply coming up with a list of models and posting them for folks to belly up and say "go with this one" which does not help you in any way, especially when they don't share their experiences with you. This sort of thing happens way too often here.

- Head to the Cult of the Infinitely Baffled and read up about IB's; then go into the forum and look to see what folks there are talking about/recommending Some of the suggestions are car audio drivers.

- Reword your original post in a way that will attract other folks who own IB configs to respond with their experiences and what they use or have used to achieve their goals and why.

There, hows that? Let me ask you this: What is it about the IDQ units that are making you lean towards purchasing them?

People have had excellent results using IDQs in IB applications. The new version is "supposed" to be even better in terms of SQ.

EXCELLENT advice Mark, beat me to the punch!!!

I've run Adire Tempests IB in my HT and had VERY good resutls, extremely musical, but lacked a little for HT, but I just needed more of them I'm guessing. Dayton has an IB specific sub that you could look into also.

Head over to "the cult" and do some researching. Perhaps Mach5 has something that would work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
