IA20.1 help

OK I talked to my cousin. He says I can have his HU. Its a Kenwood KDC-519

Will this work OK? Is it "double din"?

It has more button than I would like. But ya cant beat free.

Hey Nick, this is Nam. I was there when you bought the IA20.1. I finally realized who you were LOL.

On your cousin's headunit, it has 2 RCA preouts, but none that are dedicated for subwoofer duties. If you look to the left of that page you'll notice in the "General" section that it has 2 preamp outputs, but just below that it does not have a sub preamp output. You would want something with a sub preamp output for your IA20.1. Most radios have 3 RCA outputs, 2 for the 4 channel amp (front and rear), and the 3rd would be for subwoofer duties. I think you can find an Alpine CDA-9856 for a fair price if you needed something.

Double DIN is like having 2 radios stacked on top of each other. This is a picture of my Pioneer FH-P4200MP that I have laying around. Sucker was only used for a week then the car got totaled //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif.

I remember you. I checked out your Taco. Lots of nice work. I would have never though of using the tool box. Great idea.

After reading your post I went searching for an HU with front, rear, and subwoofer preamp outputs. Its not going to be cheap. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I did find some nice clean ones for $200-$300.

I also saw some 1.5 din HUs. I am not sure if I need a double din or 1.5. Ill have to search for the info and find out. I am a member for several Dodge forums. I am sure I can find out there.

But I am not really stuck on any brand. As long as the quality of the HU is good. And it doesn't have a history of failure.
