IA LI with 325ish watts in a sealed box

How would this work.

The amp I have is a JBL BP600.1. Rated at 600wrms at 1 and 2 ohm, supposedly puts out about 650 or so. The box is right around 1.85 cu. ft. per sub. I emailed Nick about prices(told me to check out visionaryaudio) and he said 1.85 sealed would be nice, but he didnt comment on the wattage. Would that much power get them moving very much?

Or would it maybe be better to go with a pair of 187's or Shivas with only that much power? I guess what im trying to say is, would the 187's or shivas get louder than the LI's with only that much power. These are all 12 inchers.

Also, would that box be big enough to go ported with a LI. It would get tuned to probably 30-32 Hz. If I did end up porting it.

Thanks

One more thing, IA 12's are 145/sub, correct?

yea i guess they kinda raised in price, i paid 165 shipped.

anyways, 325 ish watts is wayy to little for a LI. You'll get kinda loud, but those subs are so underrated its not even funny. Rite now im sending 600 or so watts for a DD, and everything works fine. Ive heard pple putting 2kw (i think) in one for burps.

Well shat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Any idea of what a RE SE would be like with this power, and how it would compare to those 187's, shivas, or atlas's?

I cant make my mind up on a sub,(grrrr) Im thinking-

RE SE(im pretty sure I can get these cheap--like 120sih per sub)

IA 187's

Shivas

AA Atlas

Eclipse 8812's

stuff like that

Any oppinions?

they are usually 165 shipped Lis

but if you want a great company to buy from, why not look into soundsplinter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I garuntee 1 RL-P will knock your socks off.

i'm not gonna argue you with you their //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

It sounds like a soundsplinter rl-i is more suited for your price range. It is very conservatively rated at 400w I believe but it will take 650 no problem. Check out http://www.soundsplinter.com I've heard nothing but good things about them and my experience with mike was great.

I would like a pair, not one. Ive heard good stuff about the rl-i's, but dont know jack about em. 159/sub if i get a pair. Might be pushin it in the budget area.

How would these work with the 325 watts a piece.

Also, how come they dont recomend a ported enclosure? What if I did put it in one?

Thanks

Theyd work great with 325w each especially in a ported box, which they work fine in. Im not sure why mike doesnt have a recommended enclosure size for them ported on the website. I think its just cause they shine in sq in a sealed box. They difinitely work in ported though. Accroding to tc, "the TC2+ (rl-i) can also be utilized in vented enclosures as well, due to the relatively low Qt value, and a high BL product." Just email mike for an enclosure size.

So how do these compare to Atlas's?
i dont think theres been ahead to head comparo yet so noone really knows. People will speculate though that one is better because... Honestly I think you'lll be happy with either one. They booth have awesome sq and hsould work well in your application. The rl-i does look 10x sexier though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
