IA DP 15 vs DC XL 15 M2

two xl m1 18s and was doing 151db no wall clamping 1400watts.
LOL. A pair of 12" Alpine type R should be able to handle 1400W without breaking.

Sure, I've seen some doing good in good installs too but I've also seen my fair share of failures that just shouldn't have happened. I've also seen a couple unacceptable (and grossly overpriced IMO) recone kits coming from them.

its not the M1 softies, its the M2 that i have seen to be questionable. I know plenty who used the M1 subs and no issues but ive heard ppl have issues with the M2 softies
Well I was referring to the M1 softparts actually, but knock yourself out. If it breaks build it up stronger and try again.

That box's volume lines up perfectly with the DP's recommended enclosure but is very large for the softer XL. I would not swap with that box. The DP is going to be hard to improve upon.

You run your dp with just 1300 watts?

Every ia sub can take a lot more the rate power, you can put 2x more power in your dp and you will be happy!

That's after rise and voltage and just a estimate. I would say anywher from 1300 - 1700 after rise etc

You need a good 3000 amp for your sub, this sub is a beast and need real power!!

DC soft parts are fine. I've ran DC lvl4 m1s with lvl5 soft parts and nothing failed other then a dust cap came unglued. I have a buddy who runs two m3 lvl5 15s with no failures... my old buddy ran two xl m1 18s and was doing 151db no wall clamping 1400watts. I don't know how that internet DC soft parts svck got started but I haven't seen any crazy failures other then burnt coils and tinsel leads and that's user error most likely
I asked this question on FB as well and couldn'tfind a single person that ever had an issue with a DC sub that they didnt self declare as user error. IE, unloading or double rated power.

That's what I'm saying...acouple people started spreading the rumor online and then Everyone says it in every DC audio woofer question thread. I'm a sundown nut hugger so I still don't wanna buy DC but their soft parts are fine.

The few that i seen they were failure. I didnt see if all were user or not.

Now my Teammates issues were DC's problem, he kept popping subs and getting recones but it wasnt overpower or clipping. He noticed the lat time he reconed, DC sent him softies that pretty much had next to no glue on them, but i will say that Rusty resent him all new recones and i think refunded him what he paid on those
