Hey guys i just bought an Ia 40.1 and i was setting it up today and decided i would make sure of a couple things before i got hook it all up...

1st - The amp has dual power imputs and i have 2x Kinetic Hc 600 power cells and i have 2x 200a fuses... SO my question is should i put my fuses between my battery and my power cells or between my amp and my power cells???

2nd - When grounding the amp should i give it its own ground ( by this i mean amp - straight to chasi) OR can i just wire the amp - to the power cells - then to chasi??

and im sure i will have a couple of more questions as i go along and if u read this and know the answer plz repl because i would like to have this all finished tonite and i got 4 hours left ... thanks!!!

You should fuse the power wire going to your rear batteries at the rear batteries. And it doesnt matter if you ground your amp to the batteries or to the chassis. as long as your chassis ground is a good solid ground point. Do whatever is easier.

I would make a paint for you, to show exactly what you need to do, but Im to lazy.

Ill explain it real g00d.

Power to battery 1, fused.

Power to battery 2, fused.

Power to Amp. Fused. Both.

Ground Battery 1, to battery 2.

Ground battery 1, to Car.

Ground amp, to battery or Car. Both.

k so i was kinda bummed that i had to go back to my stupid *** local car audio place to get 2 more fuses and 2 more fuse holders... yawn... but then i was lookin at the 2 fuses i had already bought... and those douche bags gave me 1 x 200a fuse and 1 x 150a fuse with a 200a fuse covering....

and i just realized that i just confused myself more... seeing how the recomended fuse ratting is 400 amps and in th owners manual it shows 1 200a fuse on each power line... so should the fuses total 400?? meaning should i get 4 100a fuses or get 4 200a fuses???

that seems a little confusing to make it more basic... should the fuse's total amps= 400 or should i use 4 x 200a fuses or 4 x 400a fuses??

new problem... the owners manual recomends that i use 200 ampere x 2 pcs fuse

and in the front it recomends 400 total

SO

should i use 100a fuses .... 200a fuses.... or 400a fuses

the 100a fuses would be an absolute total of 400 amps

the 200a fuses would total 400amps per power line

and the 400amp fuses would just be 400amp fuses that is if they make 400 amp fuses

and when it says "200 Ampere x 2 pcs fuse" does it mean 400 total or 400 total per powerline

so what fuse should i use if i do this

first amp power input

Power--------fuse--------battery-----fuse----amp

second amp power input

Power-------fuse--------battery-----fuse----amp

FYI im doin 2x individual power runs because my main car battery is under my back seat so its like 4-5 feet from the end of my car

Power to battery 1, fused. 300amp

Power to battery 2, fused. 300amp

Power to Amp. Fused. Both.200amp x 2

Oh crap i just sharded myself...... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

k well im goin to have two seperate power runs to my amp so is this what i am suppose to do???

power----200afuse----battery-----200afuse---amp

200afuse 200afuse

power----200afuse----battery-----200afuse---amp

200afuse 200afuse
