I'm totally new to sound systems and I would like to purchase one

I've read tons of boards and informations. I'm getting used to the audio terms and heard about some good brands

I am from Québec, CA and there is no big audio dealer anywhere near where I do live.

I am willing to spend around 500 US$ for an Amp + Sub

I am looking for SQ instead of SPL

I am also looking for something around the 300 RMS

I would like to know which sub and amp would be great and match my money

I think you'll want more than 300rms. check out hifonics amps. for a sq sub check out the alpine type X.

For an SQ sub I would get a Phoenix Gold RSD12. I just got one myself and not only does it sound great, it can get pretty loud as well. And for 100 bucks, it's an absolute steal. That leaves you with all that money to get a good amp.

For an SQ sub I would go with an Infinity kappa perfect DVQ. They have great sq and interchangeable parts to change the sq of the sub. use it with a hifonics 1606 shoud be good. Youll prolly want to put it in a sealed box.
