Volume goes past 20 (1-35) highs amp cuts on and off quickly! So we disconnect the LIL wonder. Now mids are running off HU. Turn it to around 20 and it sounds like radio station static (like the station is not coming in clearly) while playing a cd. I fade all the way to the front speakers and distorting goes 100% away. Turn balance all the way right NO distortion. So it has to be the LR 5x7. Thoughts on what is happening.

It sounds like you blew the 5x7 in the rear and it's reading as a short at high volumes. At low volumes, the coils is probably unwinding giving a static sound. Take it out and push on the cone slightly and see if you hear the nasty scratchy sound. Also, measure the coils with a multimeter and see what it reads.

For now, I would just run your front speakers amped with no rears installed. Leave that for a little bit and see how you like it.

Thanks good advice.
