I was about to get a DD sub, but....

I own DD, have used M3's and actually I think you get a better "cost" deal with the M3's....you can buy recones all day for the M3's that take only minutes to recone....vs. the DEE DEEZ that are a a bit more of a lengthy process to recone. And dont be mistaken, the M3's do sound good and get fawkn loud if in the proper box with some power behind it.
oh and on a side note, I got an official email today from DD saying the 9900 series is no longer available ... :GASP: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

so the 9500's with the upgrade kit will be the highest sub DD makes thats anywhere near being reasonable to afford.
Are you talking about the M3 Mojos, or the M3 regs.?

how much does DD charge for their recones, just like a ballpark price
one of my 9918's was $350 each...but thats the most expensive worst case scenerio for a recone, so it would be clearly less for less exotic of a driver from DD. I remember Chad Hicks babbling $150 to me for a 12" or such, maybe if he's on tonight he can reiterate.

Either go with the Mojo or the 3500. No sense buying a 9500 series just to underpower it. I personally have a soft spot for Memphis gear (my first system). Haven't heard any DD stuff , but from the way people rave on here, you can't go wrong. I'd personally take the Mojo just because I've had awesome hands-on experiences with Memphis stuff. From and objective point of view though, I don't know which would be better for you.

I went to a DD Thread on the dd.com site, and there is alot of people from overseas that are winning comp. with one or two DD subs. I have to say that the DD9512 can use more power, but that would also mean a new alternater. I think that the 3500 and the Mojo are about on the same level. But the 9512 is going to sound just as good, if not better then both. The thing is, Im only going to get one sub, so I need to get the best I can get for under $700. I also know that a 1100 WRMS amp will not work out the 9512, but it will still sound great and get stuip loud in a ported box in a 300zx.

I was about to get a DD 12" sub today. But I think that the price was a little high. What is a good price for a brand new DD 9500 series 12" dual 2 ohm? The dealer said $540 plus tax. Wow, is it even worth that much? I'm just going to be bumping one on a Memphis 1000D. Please help me before I make a big buy like this.
$540 + tax for a new 9512? ****... our only DD dealer down here charges $650 + tax.

that amp is perfect for the mojo thats what I power my mojo 12 off of
I would get the Mojo, if I run out of cash.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif But the thing is, Mojos are bomb, but the 9512 comes in a dual 2 ohm. That is what I need to get the most out of it(amp).

how much does DD charge for their recones, just like a ballpark price
ballpark from last time I called:

standard coils $78 or $89, depending on config

baskets=cheap, and you want to get one, trust me.

glue=not cheap, but worth it.

standard dustcap=free CF=$??

shipping=it is what it is.
