I want to hair trick with a single 12

To get a good hair trick, you need to move a lot of air. This is usually done with a low tuning, lots of power, and lots of cone area. You may be able to do it with a single 12 tuned high (Im not an expert on the ins and outs of making hair blow from a car door), but its likely going to be very difficult, expensive, and probably end up with a system that is less musical than what you have now. Im sure we'd all like to have a hair trick capable system with a single 8 too, but reality is often more cruel than our imagination.

Kind of a side note but, Would it be easier to move a persons hair if they were inside or outside the vehicle. On most vids girls are standing in the window sill which I think might actually make it easier to do because of the pressure difference from the outside to the inside. Or is it easier to do the closer the person is sitting to the subs?

I am not sure but a hair trick only counts if youre in the front windows in my opinion. This is a 4 layer sub so it wont take 3k and with 2med spiders I doubt it would last long against the bottom plate. I was thinking a ti basket and 2k would get me there. 10 inch spiders?

I don't think a XXX is the best sub to try that with.

I did it with a huge *** spl sub and 3000rms. 1996 s10 blazer 4door

single 12'' facing back, port to driver side. 6'' tuned to 35hz

edit: 1600rms is pushing a 2005 XXX hard. Try a t line and hope you don't tear spiders
