ok here is where everyone goes wrong with setting up a system especially in a small space. more subs doesnt mean louder, more watts doesnt always mean louder either, in that amount of space do not put an 18 in, there will not be enough depth for an appropriate box, a single 12 or 15 in a large lowtuned box, remember that one sub in the correct box can destroy 2 3 or however many subs in the wrong boxes. you want that sub to make love to that box, look at the t/s of the sub and determine the correct box size. and you can mix sub sizes people say not to but i have no idea why since ive seen many with 18s mixed with 10s and 12s and 15s and they all sounded great, another thing people say which is not true at all is that smaller subs are more for rock and fast hard hits and larger ones like 18s and 15s are slow and sloppy, this is not true in any way, it depends on the spiders and the motor not the cone size and also the box that it is in the only problem is that once you get into like 1k rms the higher you go the less tightness you get. all that being said id say you want a single 12 or 15, for sql id say something like a Memphis mojo hard to find the real deal mojos nowadays but they take twice the rated power plus more and always sound great. if you want straight spl do a single orion hcca 12 or 15 in like a 5 cubic ft box tuned @ 32 hz. as far as an amp goes? if you want to do competitions then id say a rockford fosgate power amp they are some of the most under rated amps ever made. the t2500cp delivers over 3500 watts on the reccommended electrical system or a sundown amp but going anywhere above 2k to 2500 in that small area would be a waste of wattage because you dont have enough box space. just beware of the misconceptions my friend.
