Plausible, but a huge waste of money and time.
Not really I just run the properly tuned enclosure for the 8"s probably a .5cuft sealed (depending on sub of course) and a nice high volt processor, and a nice amp, and they would do their job...probably up around 45hz

And do the same for the 18"...it would also...do it's job...at around 35hz...the thing is there is no way around a bigger mass, inherently being less tight...it's big..it's moving a lot of resistance/air/weight compared to an 8" that can hit like a machine gun.

Look none of this bullshit is important...just start listing dope systems.

An 8 in a small sealed enclosure it super clean and punchy (of course given it's a nice sub in the first place). An 18" on the other hand...not always as "crisp". So I'd have this big monster behind the seats in the background..and the 2 8"s right in between the seats, right in your face, real tight and punchy.

K so let's start listing setups now...brands/reliability/price/sizes/etc...thanks..

you will regret the 18 when you get show up by a 12 but anyway. aa,dc,dd,fi,re,soundstream, rockford fosgate, memphis, sundown, incriminator, orion, audioque just off the top of my head, these are the various brands that make very good stuff but dont cost a billion dollars (at least not all of their products) on your budget these are easily attainable.

if you are getting "REALLY LOUD" you wont hear a peep from those 8s over the 18, pal that 18 can easily put out those frequencies its abt the box, how the sub is made and what its intended for. i had an 18 that could hit notes so high it made your head feel like it was a bowling ball getting crushed by chuck norris.

Alright so scrap the 8"s, what makes you think I'll get shown up by 1 12? lol

An 18 can play 45hz just fine LOL I vote IP check on this tool, to see who it is attempting to troll us.
Uh dude I don't see what makes you think you're so ******* special with a 150$ amp and not much else...this system is going to immediately **** anything you will ever have lol..

A few approximations for you:

+3db for doubling cone area, +3db for doubling power.

Next, a 8" sub and a 18" sub could potentially have IDENTICAL response curves. It's dependent on the subwoofer itself, and (crucial) the enclosure.

As far as a 12" beating an 18". It is very possible if the 12" has a distinct power, enclosure, or vehicle advantage. Thus, make sure you pick the right subwoofer(s) and have a great box for them.

Sir, I realize this is your thread so you can say what you want. However, if you want help from the knowledgeable members of this forum I highly recommend the utilization of manners and restraint. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
