I have $1,200-2,000 For my setup..Just the amp(s)/Sub(s) no need head unit or wires or anything else..

(Let's just assume I'm running 2 Batts and a HO alt with 1/0 Throughout, sittin steady @ 14.4V)

Will be going in an extended cab Ford Ranger so not a huge amount of cuft to work with but some..

Looking to get AS LOUD as possible

1x18"?

1x15"?

2x12"s?

3x10"s?

4x8"s?

Was also thinking 1x18" and 2x8"s for real punchy SPL & Crisp SQ Feel..

AN AMP??? omfg I need advice!!

I'm not an impulsive teenager, I can plan and wait until every part of the system is perfect before I even unbox anything..I need some good advice on what EXT Cab pickup truck will blow people's minds..lol I want to scare/shock/surprise people that think it won't be loud lol..

My advice would be to go to some SPL shows. Look for setups that are in similar vehicles etc for a design. Also listen to the equipment. Then you can make a decision based on what YOU like rather than what the most recent forum boner is. People on this forum tend to only recommend things they run or wish they could run. Don't listen to that bs. Make up your own mind from your own experiences.

I appreciate it man. But at the same time those guys at the shows have free reign to blow the **** out of their system, and just get a big box of new crap the next week...This has to be my daily driver man.

Like I'de rather measure twice cut once when it comes to this system, and by that I mean take in all the info and opinions I can before I spend a dime, that way I'll know what I'm getting...

I'm open to all suggestions.

So that amp will put roughly 4k watts to a sub @ 1 ohm...

Won't that DC be under too much pressure even at low volume?

I mean I'm thinking...ok.. a Fully loaded FI Btl 18" which I can get locally for about 550$, which is rated @ 2k...I was thinking about going AQ2200...is 2200 not ENOUGH for these big fuckers??? I mean I've heard guys say they put BTL 18"s on 4400 watt amps and did real good...So I mean is it just how you keep the amp settings and head unit volume?? I mean..

just get as many skars or dcons (dvc) or sa 8's or sa 10's and get an amp to match their rms wattage. Cone Area is king!

edit: depending on the volume you have for a enclosure, you could buy DD audio which most are very impressed with! plus they look snazzy!

Don't know why you recommended the cheapest 300watt models those companies make, but NO...lol. However the Sa8's or Sa10's are nice. Why would enclosure size mean the difference on buying Digital Designs...more like the 1800$ price tag for one of their amps, not the size of the enclosure..

But eh I'm thinking 1 Fi Btl 18 / 2500 watt amp (Orion, Sundown, or DD) and 2 L7 8"s / 1000 watt amp (Any decent one)

i ran my level 5 on 8k and just kept the gain all the way down. this will be good for u so it will leave room for bigger and better subs to come in the future. if not just get the aq 2200 on a level 5 and it will sound **** good also

do not mix different types or sizes of subs

There is an audible difference between an 18" and an 8" I could run both to fill the spectrum...people do that all day...
