no chip gives you even close to 111 hp unless you have SERIOUS upgrades and your stock chip has the thing running like shit, and you get a completely custom chip made. even then, you're talking MAYBE half that.

I said it's 1, not the only 1, there are plenty, but the majority are not very cost effective, i have no idea what the price is on the mach 5, and i'm not going to look it up, my point was that it would be stupid to spend 100+ extra just for extra headroom, when a 15" would be enough head room.(if you are not competeing or something) not ALL subs fall under this assumption, however, alot do, and the sub manufactures know this... saying that the reason they don't offer them is because they wouldn't sell is saying the same thing... Why would they not sell if they were smart to use?

I wonder, in Cotjone's world, does nobody listen to a SQ system above 126db (the level at which most SQ competitions judge)? The guy who built a sub system into his basement is "stupid" according to Cot. The guy wanting 18" SQ subs is "stupid" according to Cot. Things Cot does not agree with or even understand, he labels as stupid and moves on. Cot doesnt understand wanting/needing that much headroom, or displacement ability, so its "stupid". For a guy who seemed to get upset when I called him the authority on stupid, he sure seems to fit the role well.

Put it in 3-4 cubes sealed and it sounds awesome off of just 500-800 watts, with plenty of output. Where does this fit in to your whole theory?

Seriously, what makes a person feel the need to make up such a story for a bunch of strangers on the internet? Extreme need for attention, and a very poor self esteem problem would be my guess. Its easier to build your bruised ego back up from a position of anonymity than it is doing it face to face. So he comes here and tries to make everyone respect his knowledge and experience.

There was a chip, dad did take it out, i don't know how much power it actually gave, he said along with a few other upgrades it added 111hp, but i have no way of knowing if that (or the fact that he payed 8k for it is true) it had to be taken out a few years back because 1) it caused him to fail inspections 2) it made sensors go bad like crazy and dodge was going through his *** in cost for them.

This is all i ever insisted true, no more it's easy to put words in another person's mouth, and YOU my friend, are the king of that.

My simple opinion is that in ALOT of lines of SQ subs where price goes WAY up from 15 to 18, it is less than smart to go 18's just for extra headroom. less than smart = stupid

That isn't the point of the thread. The whole point of using a large sub for an SQ setup is that it is a cheaper way to extend headroom and hit the lows with more authority. Quit making shit up and just admit that you're wrong.

i have never seen the chip... but i was told that it does everything, timing, fuel levels and everything... it wasn't availible in the US... it was custom ordered, designed specifacally for that truck and costed 8000 bucks... all of that is very likely to be untrue because my dad exadgerates very badly, thats why i'm gunna ask him specifically about it when i get the chance

actually it is in exellent condition.. when it's clean... it has not one single scratch or ding on it and the paint looks new.. and the the chip was purchased when the car was new.. (if it exists)

i stand by what i said... it is a 111 hp chip and it cost my dad about 6500 dollars... i can.t prove it cause i'm in new hampshire... and the recipt isn't with him but the recipt only has a price anyway because its not a legal chip... he has to take it out before he gets it inspected... it does exist. and it is 111 hp... it gave him 21 mph more top speed... and about 4 more mpg... it isn't something you can get just anywhere... but i'm going to leave it at this....

WHY?... here is what i know FOR SURE...
it increases the horsepower 111... it controlls allmost everything in the engine... it cost him a total of AROUND 6500$... that company has a step-down product that DID exist 8 years ago and is very similar in performance... so why is it not possible? hell why isn't it likely from a man who has lived, breathed, and worked high-performance vehicals and racing his whole **** life? (and that last part i think i've proved very adequately)
