nope high SPL can be acheived through 8'sstfu ysscky
and if your after pure spl you should never use 10s by your reasoning correct?

hahahaha.....thats one of the funniest pics i seen in a while
it must be italian and only come in a 3 pack (think funky pups) with 3 diff. sizes (10",12",and 15")CotJones needs a sub. Steve Meade has one, Squeak is working on his.....Cot needs to have one.
oh god not this crap again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/beatdeadhorse5.gif.5d70132dea1eb89b73bf2fdbb6027dd6.gif:beathors:Yes, You would be gaining not even 30si of cone area by switching from the (2) 12's to the (1) 18. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif But the 18 is not going to be as responsive as the 12's when You go up in size like that, it takes a little more power to make that sub move as quick as the smaller subs. If You end up going from (2) ported 12's to (1) sealed 18, Your not going to be satisfied with SQ, or SPL. In general 18's are not for SQ. Why not go with (2) 15's Instead of (1) 18? You could seal them, and they would be alot more responsive than the 18. Plus you would have enough cone area to make up for the SPL advantage that the ported 12's had.
I think he is referring to the tendancy of a subwoofer to resist modulation in the signal going through it according to the power of the signal... this is a characteristic of an inductor (like a sub motor) and the stronger the motor, the higher the inductance (ergo: lower transient response with more underpowering) this is sorta true, however alot of subs have the same motor as you go up in cone size, (FIq)Yes, You would be gaining not even 30si of cone area by switching from the (2) 12's to the (1) 18. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif But the 18 is not going to be as responsive as the 12's when You go up in size like that, it takes a little more power to make that sub move as quick as the smaller subs.
