Doesn't mean 18's are stupid for SQ...

18's are well suited for SQ...

but it IS in most circumstances stupid to use them anyway.

you have to consider the cost of a jet engine, the cost of the fuel, the cost of the tickets you would get by pulling it out of your garage, not to mention burning down your house

SQ can't be your only goal...

if it were, than you should not have a system at all, you should hire the original performers to sing in your car all day, after all, price and cost effectiveness has nothing to do with your goal:wow:

1. output potential is WAY too much for most applications.

2. headroom is superfluous, esspecially the higher the quality of the line. (if you are trying to win SQ comps with solo-x's i would RECOMMEND 18's. but with most of "THE BEST" SQ lines it would be stupid to get 18's for both of the above 2 reasons

SQ could easily be your goal, just as SPL is many other people's goal. Why could it not be?

P.S. Many bands recordings sound much better than them live.

for those who dont know... cot likes to make a completely retarded/uneducated general statement, and when someone calls him out on it he likes to twist his words and act like he meant something else entirely... this has happened many times, just ask him about the four 10"s and one 13.5" playing together, or the 800 HP italian superchip he was going to put in his truck
