I want a nice Pc sound system

Looks like the JBL Northridge line...

I had a pair of the Studio S38's when I was in the dorms, they rocked off of a NAD 3020 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Most people are saying to spend way more then his original budget of $50.

I say stick with logitech go to a store that is close to you and doesn't have an open item restocking fee and then buy the logitechs for $50 try them out 13 days and return them on the 14th day.

I bought like 3 motherboards, 2 cpu's, 3 types of ram, and 3 video cards at Fry's electronics did like 4 windows xp installs in a weekend and ran benchmarks on everything then found the best combo of components and returned everything that I didn't need anymore.

Buy now, try now, return later and be happy!

holy hell, how did u get the computer to freakin light up?
thanks!,

yeah JBL E80's , powered off a marantz 5.1, don't even need a sub they play pretty low as it is.

For REAL SQ on a pc you will need two things, first a decent sound card, I dont give a crap how nice your onboard is, a descrete DSP will murder onboard any day of the week. Secondly, your speakers. I have the logitech z-5500s paired with a Audigy X-fi Extreme Music. Unbelivable. I know thats alot more than you planned to spend, however logitech makes a 2.1 version of the z-5500s which is they same thing without the center, left rear, and right rear. Dont know what it goes for but that would be what i recommend, and you can get a Audigy2 ZS for like 50 bucks, it doesnt hold a candle to the X-fi but it will kick the shit out of onboard. Klipsch makes some real nice 2.1 solutions also. Depends all on how seriously you take your PC sound. When i heard my z-5500s for the first time i pack up my $600 home sterio system and sold it.
what are some decent sound cards?

I havent set my expectations real high. The first setup i liked was the harmon kardon because the bass was good enough for me and its under 50 bucks. I was asking if there are any other computer setups that are any better for the same price?
