I wanna stay under 50 dollars and ive heard the dell series sub/speakers that come with those computers. I really like the Harmon Kardon HK395 set it has the amount of bass i want and sounds good enough for me.

Just wondering if u have any other suggestions to look for as far as a pc system.

Or would a cheap plate amp/sub be better?

link to harmon kardon i like

what i did is i went to a garage sale got a home audio set-up (for 25 bucks) and hooked it up, i have surround sound (2 front 2 rears) they get loud and itsd just awesome......................so if your into that look @ garage sales or craigslist, they will have plenty of stuff

soon i want to up grade to a deck instead of a home audio reciever //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well i dont want anything big that takes up space just the basic small satellite speakers and a small sub setup thats why i like the harmon kardon set, just want to know if theres a better set around for similiar price

For REAL SQ on a pc you will need two things, first a decent sound card, I dont give a crap how nice your onboard is, a descrete DSP will murder onboard any day of the week. Secondly, your speakers. I have the logitech z-5500s paired with a Audigy X-fi Extreme Music. Unbelivable. I know thats alot more than you planned to spend, however logitech makes a 2.1 version of the z-5500s which is they same thing without the center, left rear, and right rear. Dont know what it goes for but that would be what i recommend, and you can get a Audigy2 ZS for like 50 bucks, it doesnt hold a candle to the X-fi but it will kick the shit out of onboard. Klipsch makes some real nice 2.1 solutions also. Depends all on how seriously you take your PC sound. When i heard my z-5500s for the first time i pack up my $600 home sterio system and sold it.

not really wanting anything amazing just a decent sounding setup which i have now but i have no sub for any kind of bass or low end so i want a new setup that comes with the sub. and the harmon kardon that i heard sounded loud enough to me

Thats cool, buy what makes you happy. I just find myself upgrading my upgrades because i like something at first then i see something alittle better and so on and so on (like caraudio hehe). Im a big fan of buying things once.

I like my Klipsch 2.1 setup a lil more now than i did when i got it... The bass is descent but the speakers are top notch .. PAid 150 with 2 yr warranty.. But klipsch makes cheaper ones i think
