Ok, so I posted a few weeks ago about how one day I was jamming on the way to work and my sub just quit working. Yall said I blew my speaker and that I need to upgrade to a dedicated sub amp and use my 4 channel (ppi 900.4) for my components and 5.25"s. So i took you guys advice. So here is what I now have. Pioneer head unit (4v), NVX 1/2din EQ, ppi900.4 (front channels going to polk audio 6.5 components and rear running 4 NVX 5.25" 2-ways), massive audio 1200.1 running an NVX VCW 152 @ 1ohm 1200RMS, XS power D2700 with my stock 07 tundra 150amp alt, OFC 0guage running from battery to distribution block then 4gauge going to amps. 40sq ft NVX sound dampening for my single cab tundra. Now here are my questions. If i use the manufactures speaker parameters that come in the manual to get a ported sub enclosure calculations, they are WAY off, so i beleive NVX has fucked up their VCW manual. Now, inside the manual, it recommends 3ft^3 @ 34. Behind my seat in the tundra, I want the sub facing up and I have 17.5" of depth, max 22" height, and 35" length which is plenty for one 15". now to me, 3 cubic feet seems a bit small but what do i know. If i were to build the Box 17.5" deep, 15" high, and 30" long and subtract the volume the 3/4" MDF takes up, that leaves 3.48ft^3 WITHOUT a port, which seams about right to me. Could someone run these dimensions and see what size port i would need with these deminsions @ 34hz? OR if you could recommend something alittle different, that would be fine as well. Also, next questions. Ive never bought an AGM battery and this is also BY FAR the most money i have ever spent on my truck sound system. Will my 150amp stock alternator charge this XS Power battery fine or should I buy the XS charger and moniter my voltage and if it gets close to a certain level, put it on the charger however often as needed?? last question, so I have a separate EQ that I use mainly for ease of adjustment and needed to fill the space below my head unit but I really do like it. But i feel like i could be getting more out of the EQ/headunit/amp combo. I have my pioneer set @ volume 50 (max62) and it stays there. I never touch it and ALL settings are default and the built in EQ are all flat. No loudness on, no nothing. Its just to play cds and listen to FM. I control my volume and of course adjust everything from the EQ. Being that I keep the volume @ 50 on the head unit, I have the gains somewhere around 40-45% up on the high amp BUT i can still turn the EQ volume up to almost MAX without hardly any clipping or distortion. Im not sure if its set about right or not. If someone could tell me a way to set everything a little better I would greatly appreciate it. Ill also take some pictures of my install to let everyone see. I still have to find a place to mount the 4 NVX 5.25" 2-ways and build the sub box, also have to sound dampen as much as i can. Not sure where im going to use the 40 square feet (any suggestions would be awesome). As always, thanks alot for the help and Im looking forward to seeing what everyone has to say. Thanks.
