true. but look at the bold part. how is there ever a wrong price on an fi (or AA) sub? they're some of the cheapest stuff out there. and jl makes awesome, well built and really good stuff, even though its on the more expensive side. but, you could say the same for TC (now audiopulse) but u don't see people crying about their expensive stuff do u? get over it. if u don't want to buy it, then don't.

The same for TC??? The TC3000's 15's were selling for like 300 bucks!!.. I remember because I was trying to decide between that and a SI MAG at the time, and there were about the same price

JL makes good products. its just everyone here are cheap and don't like the idea of paying retail for anything, me included.
As for worth, worth is dependent on what someone is willing to pay. Supply/demand. Considering w7's still sell very well, I'd say that they are worth what they charge MSRP. They may not be worth that much to people around here, but numbers don't lie JL makes enough off the w7 to keep selling them so they must know what they are doing. I disagree... I think the General Public people who can afford JL, buy JL because that is what's know as the best MAINSTREAMMMMM brand... If they saw AQ, or DD, or FI, or IA, they wouldn't have a clue what they were, and they'd see an 18" FI for 300, and the JL for 800 and be like "hmmh, this 18" $300 sub must be a POS, or else it would be more than this 800 JL sub

Power rating and SPL scores are the only important measures of a sub's performance.

ive liked every Jl sub Ive owned. Everyone has a differnt definition of loud, My one 12w7 was plenty loud for me and still very musical. there are some people in the car audo world who actually care about sound not just loudness.
