THIS IS Exactly What Happened To My Gp3000d 1 Month Ago.

Less Than Half Way Turned Up, WE WERE JUST GETTING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT.

Less Than A Minute Of The Car Being On.

All Of The Sudden No Bass, We Pulled Over And It Was Stuck In Protect.

Had It Checked Out, Every Single Fet Shorted They Said, But There Was No Visible Damage On The Board At All.

That Brown Piece Of Paper Goes Over The Top Of The Two Bigger Transformers, Its Common Sense, Sticky Side On The Back Cover.

2 Weeks After That I Bought Another One.

Ah okay, I just didn't wanna break it. Also, are all the tranistors that size the same type? The one that actually blew is in a very awkward spot and it's hard to get my hands up under the clip. Would be easier if I could pry off another one

There's no guarantee that it will be the same. Use a screw driver or something.

I opened my amp when I first received it and the piece of card board was placed over the filter capacitors, sticky side down no less.

Yeah slide a small screw driver in between the "U" of the clip and the case of the amp and pry it up gently.

only read some parts i got 15 fets(i think) from mouser for the sundown cost like 22 shipped. not bad

but i may add if you do not have any clue how to fix this i would not try. There is a lot more than just pulling the one fet off putting a new one on and then go on your way.

What else is there really besides reapplying thermal compounds and changing the fet(s)? I suppose I should check the board and make sure everything around the burnt fet still has continuity...

after some inspection, looks like I need to remove the side rails to get these clips off? lol, even with a screw driver they don't budge, and there really is no space for them too. I see there are some allen key screws on the sides which seem to hold in a rail though, I'm trying to remove it now.

Well it was no easy task guys, but finally I managed to get that clip off. I'm not sure how those things go in there, but boy are they hard to remove. Anyways, it turns out the fet was not even soldered onto the board anymore. This could very well be the problem I think... Haha.

Also, where the legs were are where the burns originate from. Pics up in a few. I don't see any numbers on this fet though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif
