Maybe you could EQ the kickers to sound to your liking?

Give a listen to some polk audio comps the tweeter is super smooth in my experiences with them.

I have heard quite a few polk and infinity comps and they do sound smooth. No matter what I did with the kickers, I just hated them. So I sold both sets! haha
