thanx to ameduece for my new 12" baby....couple pics next to a 15" Magnum....notice the massive motor structure compared to the Mag.
come on what...they are awesome subs. I just forgot about how big and heavy they are since i sold my 15"s couple years agoso size of motor = everything? I mean i know the pre 05 XXX's were badass but come on.
thanx for noticing......i must be making up for some other sort of deficiency, you know, buying everything so big......I noticed that massive tv in the backround. Nice speaker also.
the 15"s are easier to find than the 12"s are...i wanna buy a 15" xxx like that one..wish someone would sell me one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
One of my favorite quotes I recently found:so size of motor = everything? I mean i know the pre 05 XXX's were badass but come on.
That being said I'm currently building a box for my '05 15" XXX. Most of the motor structure appears to be top plate. The triple stack in the Brahma was mainly for the "OMG" factor. We could get the same performance with a single 1" thick magnet. Problem is, it just didn't market as well (our B&M dealers love the monster look of the driver). The triple stack is there for looks. For better or worse, *** sells, and NO ONE likes to buy expensive, high power, high excursion drivers that have tiny motors. Look at the flack that Shiva and Tempest get for their looks... A small motor on Brahma just didn't have the "WOW" factor desired.
