I really forgot just how badass XXX's really are

Close, USN stationed on USS Rodney M Davis FFG-60 on duty right now. Last name is Germany. CTT2(SW), used to be an EW. What are you doing in Lemoore.
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, La. See my sig. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!
I just googled the USS Rodney M Davis. So I see my mistake, you guys are out of Everett.

I just got off of sea duty with VFA-25 here in Lemoore and transfered to shore duty here at CNATTU Lemoore. I'm an instructor for my rate, I'm an AME1.

So you went to Pensacola for a while? I spent two years there at Corry. I'm getting out in 8 months but would've loved to go back to Florida for the last couple. I miss being close to Louisiana.

Also sorry for thread jacking.

I spent a few months in P'cola in 97 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif that's when I went to "A" school. Man that was a long time ago. I'll more than likely stay in and retire. I just hit 11 years, although I have broken service, I got out after my first 4 and got recalled for 9/11 and just decided to come back and stay.

One, you are comparing different installs and assuming the difference is the speaker used. Or at least portraying it that way. And two, SX's were shown to peak abit louder than a XXX, but the XXX has more power handling and more linear displacement potential (by a good margin)... the XXX will be louder across the bandwidth its asked to play than will an SX. Old news.
Comparing output of subs of this caliber is pretty silly. They are all very comparable, and likely the difference in the install will make vastly more difference in SPL, 'perceived loudness', SQ, and most other popular terms people like to compare these days than will exactly which of these subs is used.
i agree...the install on my system has made a day and night difference..initially i used a prefab box i had to test the sub in..i had a t-line built and the difference was incredible..the sx now has great sq (in my opinion) and gets pretty **** loud for a trunked car.. (mid 140's) but i do want ot switch subs soon..im not gettin the potential out of my amp since the sx is d4 and my amp is one ohm stable..what sub would outperform(SQ AND SPL) the sx and can handle 1700+ watts rms and work well in a chambered t-line with only about 9 or so inches of mounting depth>?
