Lookin for 1 or 2 10" subs for my trunk that will be good for any kind of music. The box will be ported, not gonna spend more then $150 in total on sub(s). but i want somthing i can still impress people with and will get decently loud, maybe a 10" L7?... 10" soundstream T-5?... 10" Poweracoustic MOFO?... or two 10" of those new pioneer champion series subs. any suggestions on a sub?

SQ, but can also get loud when i wanna blast young jeezy with out distoring, i kno the l7s get loud but at low volumes and with different kinds of music.. thier not the best sounding

well there are quite a bit of good sounding subs out there. i have had personal experience with only a few subs so far.

i had an old Style Alpine Type-R with the traditional single roll surround. got kinda loud on the 300 watts i had it on but lacked SQ. sounded boomy and sounded really weird when i didn't have the windows up and sunroof closed. it was probably reaching it's mechanical limits while it was unloaded.

then i got a Treo SSi 10 in a 1.75 cuft net ported box tuned to 35hz on about 750 watts rms. it got pretty loud down low but lacked both output and quality in the upper bass frequencies(anything above 45-50hz or so), and sounded slow and sloppy on rock and metal (pretty much anything fast paced) so it lacked SQ.

now i currently run a Dayton Reference H.O. 10. it's in a .7cuft net ported box tuned to 30hz on about 400 watts rms. the SQ is amazing and the output is actually close. not sure which is louder actually.

oh and before all this back when i was a complete noob i had a pair of flea market Volfenhag 12's in a sealed Q-logic box getting about 450 watts rms each from an RF 801S amp. they got loud and actually sounded ok, not great by any means but ok.

so out of all the subs i have owned the Dayton hands down is the most enjoyable for daily. if you want a TON of output get 2 and port them. 1.5 cuft net for the pair tuned to 30 hz will sound great and get real loud.

A 10" kicker L7 and a 10" RE SE are pretty much the same price.. im sure the SE will sound better but SPLwise how do u think it will compare to the L7
