I really expected more from my kicker cvr 12's ......

i dont understand. what would be better? i mean the amp is mono and it is 1000 rms at 2 ohm. subs are 2 ohm. seems perfect. shcool me please. i am dying to know where i went wrong. lol
if the amp does power at 2 ohm...and you have 2 subs that have a 2ohm resistance...then your not getting proper power to your subs..your either running them at 4 or .5ohm like said above... so your amp does not match your subs...thats your problem right there bro...chances are your running @ 4ohm and getting a fraction of that 1000watts that you think your getting...your old subs might have had the proper resistance and thats why they were louder.

It would be either at 2 or .5 not at 4ohm resistance.

Do you have a mutli meter to test if they are correctly wired at 2 ohms?

Are your subs dual 4 or 2 is your amp a old bd 1000 or 500 are you talking max or rms. What are your frequecys set on the amp lpf hpf if the amp has those adjustments What is the headunit set at is your eq maxed out or flat lined do you have a bass boost set on your head unit. Sounds honestly like you need to set your subs up to match the amps impedance tune and have the proper enclosure.I see lots of people turn the gain up on the amp along with the bass boost have the headunit maxed the low pass set at 250htz and wonder why the subs distort and sound like ****"

yea... most likely a combination of a few things... bad settings, crappy pre fab box... just cuz the box is ported doesnt mean its good for your subs... you need to actually build a box that is at the specs your subs will like

No you can run 2 dual 4 subs at 1, 4, 16 ohms dual 2 subs are .5, 2, 8 ohms
