I need your opinions!! Hybrid audio Clarus vs. Hsk 165 XL

I just bought the regular Hertz Hsk 165 but I was thinking of giving them to my dad as a Christmas gift and getting either the Hybrid audio Clarus or the Hertz HSK 165 XL. I am looking for a component set that gets loud, is smooth and has excellent sound quality. Which set will give me the best of both worlds?

The new hertz are supposed to be better than the old, i wonder how they are compared to the clarus?

I'm not sure why your comparing them to the Clarus line they are a cut above.

I'd consider the Legatia..

the mlk was a nice set and from what I hear the new Hsk xl are superior in every way..

The Clarus crossovers look better and they have won lots of sq comps. Of course the new hertz are different than before. Anyone heard both to compare?

i have auditioned the Clarus and Hertz side-by-side. I got a set of Clarus, took them to my local Hertz dealer, put them in the sound board, and auditioned them for a while.

Hertz MLK-165 >> Clarus = Hertz HSK-165XL >> Hertz HSK-165

the HSK-165XL wasn't as accurate as the Clarus, but both sound great for the same price point. they are different though, so personal preference can play a role.

Awesome man!! Thanks for the info! Another thing I was considering is that I can get the Hertz Hsk XL's about $100 cheaper than the Clarus so I might go with them. I found them for $450 shipped from a legit source. Thanks for your opinion! I enjoy reading your helpful posts!

Given the price of Clarus set, I think they should have included bi-amp capable crossovers..

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I bought my Clarus set today. You can ask for the b-iamped crossovers (which I did), and they will take $100 of the price of the Clarus set by taking out the Clarus xovers. From there, you pay the price for the Clarus set - $100, then pay for the bi amped set.
