I Need some kicker help...

He wants to get to kicker L7's 15"s for his nissan maxima, he doesnt kno to either get 2 ohm or 4 ohm hes has 1 1000 watt memphis and is planing on buying another 1.....what you guys think he should do

(this post is made operating under the assumption that the friend wants to run one subwoofer off of its own amplifier from what I can gather from your post)

Does the buddy have enough electrical system in his Maxima to run two 1,000 watt amplifiers? That would be the first thing that needs to be addressed, in my opinion, before deciding what voice coil configuration drivers to purchase.

Outside of that, however, he'll need to figure out at what impedence does the amp or amps to be used make the power he wants to put into each subwoofer? (most likely either 2 Ohms or 1 Ohm)

If he wants to run each subwoofer at 2 Ohms then he'll want to buy the dual 4 ohm version.

To run each subwoofer at 1 Ohm he'll want the dual 2 ohm version.

In either case he'll want to wire the coils on each driver in parallel like so:

Dual 4 Ohm sub ~

Dual 2 Ohm sub ~

so you think that maxis stock electrical system wont power thoes 1000s ?

If the plan is showing the amps the proper resistance for them to output a kilowatt each I would suggest stock electrical in a Maxima (what year Max, by the way?) isn't going to be enough, no.

I'm not sure on the year, but its the new model not the old 1 so what would you sugg. him on doing
