I just bought a new box and subs and I have like no bass. Please help.

The box is like the one in the pic but bigger and where the port starts in the box is different. the Box is 36"W 14"T 20"D. I have 2 rockford fosgate HX2 subs and an audiopipe 1500W RMS amp. The bass does not hit at all. It will hit kinda good if I plug 1 base port even though they are not connected. It does not matter which I cover. The subs are hooked to the amp at 2 ohms 900 rms. Can someone tell me why they dont have any bass

sounds like that box doesn't work well with the subs. by plugging one you essentially created a larger sealed enclosure and if you like that sound then I would suggest a larger box for the pair. Hx2's are decent subs, and the audiopipe has decent power, I'm really thinking the box is your weakest link

Are you sure you wired the amp correctly? Did you set your gain properly? If this is a trunk install and its all sealed up, it isn't going to hit very hard unless you have a blow through or a lot more power/subs. Not hitting hard compared to what? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If this is one of the Obcon or other prefab boxes, that can definitely contribute to the problem. I have an older Obcon box that looks like the one in the pic, without the double slot port. The port walls are so close to the back wall and sides, that the port velocity is all wrong I'm sure. I haven't modeled it in WinISD, but I'm sure the ports are wrong even for the subs it was designed for (MTX 5500). That was the last prefabbed box I bought and that was about 10 years ago. Might want to build your own or buy a custom box....

Thanks for telling me to switch the wires cause it made me take a sub out and the one that my friend did was hooked up backwards. So I hooked it up right and now it is insane. Thanks alot guys was really pissed until you guys helped me.
