i am basically new here and need some help. currently i am redoing my system. i bought two new amps. one sub amp pushing 600 watts and one 4x100 watt amp for my speakers. i know that im not running anything huge like most of you probably have, but it is all that i want at this point in time.
i am trying to figure out how i should power my amps. i already have one 4 gauge wire that is ran to my current memphis amp. i have been told that one 4 guage wire that i do have now would not support both of my new amps (if you believe that it will be fine, do let me know).
option #1. buy another 4 gauge wiring kit and run that to the second amp. disadvantage: i would need two stiffening caps or i would have to run my 4x100 without a cap (im not too sure about this though).
option #2. buy a 4 guage wiring kit that supposedly handles 1400 watts that comes with a dist block that would power my two amps. advantage: i would only have to buy one stiffening cap, but the kit is $30 more.
if i posted this in the wrong area, please kindly direct me to the proper area in which this should have been posted and i will repost it there. thanks in advance for all of your assistance.
