I need oppinions

I had someone build me a box for 2 kicker comp vr 15". He put the vent all the way across the bottom with the subs facing up. Is this a good design. The only reason I am asking is because it sounds like all the bass is in the trunk and I dont hear some notes. He said I was tuned to 35hrzs.

what do you mean he put the vent all the way across the bottom? as in the vent is firing towards the rear fo the trunk or firing towards the trunk lid?

and what notes dont you hear? if its the lower notes then odds are the box isnt big enough or the tuning is too high or both.. cause you need liek 7 cubes or more and like 30 hz or lower to really hit as low as i like to hear..

and what kind of car do you have? cause maybe youhave sheet metal behind your back seats blocking a lot of the bass.. if so you should **** soem of it or remove your rear fill

Sounds like a cancellation problem to me. Are you drivers perhaps firing up through the rear deck or close to it.

And by the way, you have one too many "Ps" in opinions.

It is a 1997 Honda civic. the speakes are facing up and the vent is slim going accross the entire bottom of the box facing the rear of the trunk. some notes like in lil jon songs are just missing.

Sounds like thats what hes saying... I dont know why the guy would build it like that unless it is a hatchback.

Cancelation looks like the culprit, bad box design for your car man.

yeah i agree.. thats also a lox of sub and box for such a small trunk.. i think it would take some hard work not to get any cancellation out of your trunk..

but if its just cerrtain notes i would guess like i did before that your box is too small/ tuning is too high. and this is also kinda likely cause in a small trunk the guy was prolly trying to conserve space.
