I need help

This is my first system install and I need help. I have 2 audiobahn aw1006q subs. They are 900 watts RMS and I want each of them to push 900 watts. Should I wire my speakers to my box to have a 2 or 8 ohm load. What kind of amp should i use, or should i use more than one. Are the 1800 watt legacy amps that i see for $120 pieces of shit. Please give me some suggestions.

Ok,

1) Are the subs DVC 2 ohm? Or 4 ohm?

2) Look for amps that do around 1600-2000 watts at 2 or 1 ohm (Audiobahn A18001D)

3) Yes, Legacy's are pieces of shit, so are Pyle, Rockwood, etc.

4) What kind of box is this in? If it's sealed, you won't like those subs too much...better port it. I have the 1206Q's, and they get extremely loud, but they lack SQ.

They are 4 ohm. The box is sealed. Can i drill ports myself or do i need to buy a new box with different dimensions.

What are the dimensions of the box you have? Making a sealed box into a ported box isn't easy, usually ported boxes need to be bigger than sealed boxes...

The box is 18in deep, 28.5in wide, and 11.5in high.

Assuming that it is made out of 3/4" MDF, the internal volume of that box is 2.578 cu ft. That is entirely too small to port it.

What makes amps like legacy so shitty that i should spend $300 more to get the audiobahn amp. Do they break easy or do they just not work as good.

They just have poor build quality, poor sound quality, and are not known for putting out the power they say they do (meaning they are over-rated).

Should i use just a regular ported box for these subs or a bandpass.

i would go with a bandpass for cleaner bass but for db type bass go with a ported.

I assume you mean a custom bandpass...which is a pain in the *** to build...
