I need help wiring this

Hey guys,

Gonna keep it short and simple.

I've got a hifonics 2016.4 that has 4 channels but is not capable at running 1 ohm load I don't think. Now I also I have (2) 2 ohm dual coil subs. In order to get 1000 watts through each sub how would I wire it ?

That won't work for you unless you only wire one sub at 4 ohms. Dual 2 ohm subwoofers can only be wired at 4 ohms or 1 ohm. If you wanted to run both subs, you would have to wire them to .5ohm, 2 ohm, or 8 ohm. Your amp isn't bridgeable to 2 ohms, so you couldn't use both channels. Your amp puts out 500x2 bridged @ 4 ohms. If only you had 2 dual 4 ohm subs instead, you'd be golden. Maybe look into a different amp setup if the money allows, or if you really wanna wire both, your amp or subs won't put out much power, but you could probably run them at 8 ohm. If you need a wiring diagram just message me. Good luck!

BS.

you can wire the subs in parallel each, and just use 2 ch of the amp until you get yourself a mono amp, as a temporary set up. I have done this before. No reason why it wouldn't work. They'll provide a little bass but won't make the most out of your amp as you wanted to.
