i have a 2001 kia sportage ex and i have a jvc head unit. the problem is i wired it up perfectly but it does not turn on at all. so i went to wallmart and had it replaced and hooked it up again but yet again it does not turn on at all. i dont know what to do now. idk if it could be a loose wire somewhere along the car or if it is a fuse that is blown. if anyone can help me that would be super sick i am getting tired of listening to the natural tune of my car

Check wiring again. Check fuses. Come back here and let us know if you found anything. We can't tell if it's a blown fuse or not, we aren't there.

Also, make sure you did wire it correctly. Check the headunit by putting the red and yellow wires together on the positive terminal of the batter and the ground...grounded. If it turns on, it's a fuse or wiring. If not, it's the headunit.

If that doesn't help, pay someone to do it.

yea i wasnt expexting someone to come skydiving to my rescue lol just need expert opinion on what it could be but thank you ill try and see what happens

radio fuses, under the bonnet or steering wheel (any blown fuse)... also how do you no you wired it up perfectly? did the shop test the unit when you took it back to them? or did they just give you another one?

Get the harness to make it a plug and play then it's as easy as matching wire colors. If that's done properly then start checking fuses in the panel. Look for the radio fuse and acc fuse you'll need a dmm or light tester to check the fuses

if you still have the owners manual you could refer to the legend for the fuses and that might save you some time. Look for something that says acc, radio, clock, something like that. Did you lose power to anything else? like dome light cig lighter horn. if the above is not an option for you take a dmm and with the key on run through your fuse panel. Probe both sides of each fuse. You will see that on either side of the top of the fuse is a tiny piece of metal sticking out, thats what you probe. find one with 12v on one side and not 12v on the other. Replace and retry the deck.
