Added an EQ now my bass sounds horrible?

Okay so i got the Clarion EQS746 installed today and it made a huge difference my components sound so much better but my bass for some reason isn't there.

Everything else sounds great but for some reason my bass sounds horrible. Its not hitting the lows like it was (ported box tuned to 34Hz) i could have the volume at full tilt and my subs are barely hitting. What gives? Could it be a bad EQ? or a bad installation?

please guys i need some help

does it sound the same without the crossover now? sub rca straight to sub amp... see how it sounds.... maybe supple some more info on how it's wired up and what you are running

Pioneer deh 9500bhs

T400 , T1500bdcp , 2 Re SXx 12s

I didnt do the install myself but the shop told me they ran all the rcas through the EQ

Ill be taking it back tomorrow but what bugs me is that everything else sounds awesome its just the bass that sounds worse //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

should be an easy fix.... when you say it sounds worse.... are you sure it sounds worse? not just quieter. i'd say the shop has tuned your amps correctly so that now your not sending your amp a clipped signal. the bass should sound better but not be as loud.

deffinatly go back to the sub tho, they might be able to just unplug the rcas going into the crossover and plug them into the sub amp, see if that sounds better

This is exactly what has happened

my bass sounds horrible and less loud i can barely even hear the bass, isn't a EQ suppose to make it sound even better and louder? it made my components sound better and louder

i feel like i lost more than half my bass tbh

but ill find out whats wrong tomorrow

You may not have the sub x-over button pushed in?I run a preamp eq, and it sounds fantastic.Did you get a tutorial on how it operates?EQ that is?I try to give a small tutorial after I install something,.Might just be a simple button to push in,or a slide to tune on the eq that you don't know about. You should have gotten a specs booklet to read upon the functions/ect.Turn yur volume to moderate, and do some experimenting, and find your likings

Don't those eq's have adjustments on the top of them also? They may have set that wrong and then mounted it.

Yes sir, I just looked at it..Pretty simplistic unit..Main in from HU/Signal.Front out to front stage,Rear out to rear stage(if using a 4 ch to run front and rears,or a 2 ch) Sub out to sub amp,and 60/90 htz switch.( id set to 60 myself.Might check fade out also.Like I said, play with it a bit,but do take it back,as they may have not hooked it up properly. But yes sir, that switch may be the issue.I love a preamp eq,gives you a lot of options to tune more in on a song.

Wow so i figured it out, turns out i had my HP filter on at 125hz on my headunit and that was blocking my bass

Turned it off and BOOM my bass is back and better than ever //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i also lowered my gains on both amps and it sounds even better! Thanks for the help guys
