I need help, sound tunning!!!

Hello All,

I'm having a true 'deperado' situation and need you guys assistance! I bought an entire Sound System for my 2016 Honda Accord and I completely hate how it sounds. The parts that I have are solid and I'm confident something can be done without loosing money... Here my set up:

Original Head Unit

Audio Control LC6i

Focal PS165 Components Front and Rear

JL XD400/4v2 Amp for components

RF P-300 dedicated amp for Sub

JL HO110-W6v3 Ported Sub

The speakers sound horrible, not even flat sound, just way too bright, no mid bass whatsoever, and not pleasant to ears (both sets front & rear). Original speakers used to sound louder when comparing current output at same volume level. I'm sure something can be done with the amp settings in order to have a decent sound. I'm not into competition or rolling windows down to show off in the neighborhood, I just want sound quality for me, but definitely with power. I shipped back the Sub yesterday due to being extremely boomy and not tight at all. Should I get a CS110G-W6v3 or perhaps a CS110G-TW3? Someone is also selling me a discontinued CS110RG-W3 in good shape. Please help me out! I'm frustrated and about to panic with all this... So is it compulsory that I get a DSP, Mosconi 4to6 per say for getting the 'warm sound' I want? Please advise!!! Thank you all in advance!!!

The stock HU applies a responce curve matched to the factory speakers and power.

You have to override it and build your own.

The Mosconi is great but it won't overide anything.

Audison Bit does or you need to put a JL cleansweep or FiX in front of the Mosconi.

Or find a used JBL MS-8. Good luck with that one.

Just get a sub and get a good designed box built. No prefab will make you happy. And JL is a prefab

this is the example of too much focus on equipment and ZERO focus on a proper install. No amount of gear switch will make you happy bro.

Need proper processing. Audiocontrol from a stock head unit Is rather sh*tty or rather its dinosaur technology that provides no real tuning capabilities and the signal is not that clean since its just boosting an already dirty head unit signal (from head unit's stock frequency response EQ curve as mentioned above)

For the midbass

you'll need to basically turn your door into a proper speaker enclosure through deadening and recreating the factory seal so no sound gets trapped between the metal door and plastic door panels.

You'll need to check if you have things properly in phase and test your polarity or even reverse polarity and see the results.

Lastly, you'll want to set the gains and crossover correctly as well

For the subwoofer you need a proper SQ tuned box that works with your vehicle acoustics, not some JL premade crap.

If you do not address ALL these issues regarding the install, you'll waste countless of dollars and never be happy or achieve any results worth a d*mn.

So the JL cleansweep is a must based on your answer. The current sound signal isn't too dirty, it's just flat and outrageously bright.

What exactly do I need to do in the amp to get the best mid bass out of the components before I go fancy buying something else (e.g. Cleansweep.)?
