I need help picking an alternator please.

Okay, here is my system and electrical:

big 3 with 0 ga.

(old version) 3 jl audio 10w6

2 sets of polk audio db6500 components

1500rms amp

900rms amp

1500rms power inverter

10k HID

7" dvd in-dash

2 10" flip downs

ps2 slim

What alt should i get?

Idle amps, max amps, etc?

As big as you can get obviously. But since you never said what kind of car it is, that would be hard for us to determine.

I would get a mechman 250 amp alt and a good bat like a D3100

Thanks for the info 93dakota. Is there anyone else who can get in on this? Cheaper possibly? Not sure I want to spend around $700-$800 on just an alt and batt.

mechman alternators are where its at. Definately a great bang for your buck alternator.

if you plan to run the inverter while your bassing your going to need about a 250 amp alt and an extra batt. If not you should be good with an extra batt or two but there is no way to tell for sure so try and than go from there.

Too late to go cheap on teh powah. With the list of stuff you gave in the OP, you are going to have at least that much wrapped up in power upgrades.

some dually crew cabs were equipped with two, easy conversion on yours if its deisel

personally i think deka is the best bang for your buck batt. $200 shipped was last i heard for the 9a31. shop around for a 250amp alt, at about 1500rms atleast. for the f250 it shouldnt be to hard.
