I need help on how much resin to order.

I already know one gallon isnt enough for what im doing.

First, Im doing an under the back bench seat amprack, so about a 6 square foot area, with only a few, maybe 2-3 layers. Then, Im doing a pair of kickpanels.

From that site, If I order 3 gallons, shipping will be $26, with no hazardous fee. So $78.5 shipped to my door.

If I order a 5 gallon pale, shipping plus the hazardous fee will be $45.85. So $119.35 total shipped to my door.

The gallon pales will be easier to work with than the 5 gallon pale, but Ide rather not have to order twice. I also dont plan on doing any other fiberglass work than this.

If I buy it at home depot, its $33.71 after tax per gallon, so $101.31 per 3 gallons, and I get it immediatly. This way, I could also buy it as I needed it.

I also called almost 15 local boat shops, and non of them stock gallons of resin.

So basically, is it worth it to order, or worth the convienince?

Also, How many galons do those with experience think I need?

5 gallons will definatly be the better deal. You can get a pump to dispense the resin out of it instead of fighting it while trying to pour it out.

But do you think I will need that much? I might have so much extra it wouldnt be worth it.

you will probably use 2 gallons on the amp rack if you do 3 or more layers and 1 gallon on the kicks so 3 is tight you will have to be careful on how much you use or waste.

If you dont use it all give it away or sell it to someone locally. Order it.

Thats what I think Im gonna do. The lady said shipping would be about the same, and In the end it would be easier to sell of what I dont need.
