i need help on a new car

so im looking to get a new car, or at least new to me in the next few months. currently i have an 04 cavalier. and i hate it. im looking at an suv thats 4wd, or an awd car. not to sure tho. i dont wanna get something that has issues. im really feeling a trailblazer, but with the problems ive had with my cav, i fear its a chevy problem, not a cav problem. im also looking at subaru legacy. not to into the fast scene, looking more towards luxury, and space. so what do u guys suggest? or what do u drive.

the window motor has gone out 3 times on driver side. 1 time on passenger. the actual switch went out once. brakes replaced every 6 months. warped rotors constantly. im sure theres more, but not off the top of my head. also, it hasnt been anything to major, its just the little things that are constant. so like i said, idk if its just the cav or the company

hmm, sounds like mine lol

my switches have gone out twice now and i have replaced both motors lol.

and i did have warped rotors once but generally that is driver error imo. my car did have 110k on it though when that happened so they had been used a bit

I also just heard the timing belt or chain snaps and the engine seizes. Apparently if check engine light comes on and goes off numerous times for no reason it's an indication of this happening.

As far as budget I figure I'll get like 1500-2000 for my car and I'll have at least double that to put down. It varies from state to state obviously but I'm lookin for like 05-07 for around 15-18000 hopefully 15 lol.

I'd like it to be awd yes.

How is that Chevy's fault? Your either putting cheap parts on it or just don't know how to brake properly...

It's happened to numerous cavs that I have friends of. But I know alot of it is city driving to. But ya ur probably right I put cheap brakes on it

The Cavi's are really cheap cars, cheap all around, they hold up better than neons and don't eat tires like focuses, the motor is pretty tough too. I'm not 100% on the ecotec, but I believe it still uses a timing chain.

I would suggest staying away from Audi if you like using cheap parts, labor isn't exactly reasonable either. Subi's are fun but they have rust issues, so if you do go that route make sure to get it undercoated. In my opinion you probably shouldn't go AWD, there isn't much benefit to it unless you like going sideways on loose surfaces, and if you do then get an Evo or a WRX. If that isn't really your thing then test drive an Avalon. They are a very well built car, and ride fantastically. My only gripes, as with all Toyota's is the undersized rear sway bar, which is easy to fix, and the auto ****** is crap, well built, reliable crap. With some good snows they are like tanks in the white stuff though.
