I need help! Bought a new amp and sub and the sub barely bumps.

Just letting you know, hifonic's gain knobs are wonkey. you need to be at max sub level on the head unit and around 90% volume then the gain will be at 50 to 60% for you to get anywhere near proper power out of them due to their gain knob being soo insensitive. Even then its a sh*t amp.

If its a trunk car, a T line wont work because a 12" Tline will be bigger than most trunks can fit.

Yeah I have no idea what kind of vehicle. He didn't bother to disclose that info either.

Sorry about that. Kind of a noob lol. I'm in a 2011 Toyota Corolla so space is not the biggest. Decent size though. I don't usually carry anything in the trunk so I can use most of the space. The old JL sub was a wov3 4 ohm. The package was a cp112 which was the sub inside a box made by jl for the specific sub. I do want to make a box for the sundown, but I've never done it before. My dad literally has every tool you can ever ask for. Power saws, electric Sanders, clamps, drills, everything so I'm sure I'm fully capable of doing it. Just got to wait like a week or two till some cash comes in. My Jl bumped pretty hard for only 300 watts. I'm assuming it's because I matched a high quality amp (the RF) AND it had a box that was made for the sub so it worked perfectly. I'm looking at some other amps right now and plan on returning the hifonics. Will look into the box later on.

I'm looking for something under 1000 watts rms. I don't want to have to upgrade anything electrical in my car. Also does an amp have to have a subsonic filter? Isn't that just a hifh pass filter?

Would this amp be good? It's by the same makers as the one you reccomened

well we don't normally recommend the black ice some of the bigger ones like the 7k don't have greatest reviews., the 2600 has pretty good ones and honestly i think the 2600 is probably exact same amp as the sound stream tn.1 1200 (tested to do 1280) because the tn 1200 has same amp guts as mine but puts out a little more power so i think they just stuck it in black ice case.. all that said buddy on here in florida just traded old 800 amp for a used 2600 and he says it's crazy loud (has 2-15 E).. it was part of the reason i went with the ppi everyone recommended it but don't love the black ice ones so if it did good and don't shut off at 1 ohm and he drives like 80 miles a day (i drive 40-50 miles a week) i figured one should last me a while..
