Did you read my WHOLE post.?? I would be using the preamp inputs and use the receiver as an amplifier instead of a receiver if I went that route.

I would go amplifier first... Then use your current reciever's Pre-Amp outs into the new Amp.

I actually did this with my Rotel RB-1080 and my Yamaha before I got my RSP-1098...

Good.... See I had some old B&W DM330i speakers which were fine being driven by the RX-V1500 but when I go the 703 I wanted something a bit more awesome. BUT, I didn't have the money to buy the RSP-1098 or 1068 at the time. SO, my point parting is the way to get to a fantastic system. Because you learn your weakest points and you upgrade them, then you find the next weakest point and upgrade it.

You know with almost full confidence I can pretty much say that the DM303 would beat anything in it's price range and $300 MSRP pair is pretty cheap. You can probably pick them up for under 2 if you did some serious looking......
But, I still stand with the 600 series rec. Those little DM601 S3's that I have would blow your mind if you heard them....

yah after looking at hte links the 600's look to be the best bet. and if he wants to spend less teh 303s would do well

I would try to spend a little extra for the 601's over the 600's.... But, I always try to strech it haha.... Reason I have a $15k system... Hahah...
