So I have decided to buy 2 RE SE 12". How would you rate the SPL/SQ?

I need amp recommandations for this sub. I must be able to choose from the brands on this page:

http://www.audio-warehouse.com/web/main_category/caraudio/caraudio.asp

Because I have understood, buy browsing this forum and reading rant upon rant, that it's not the amplifier that makes the SQ, it's the sub, right? So I should get an amplifier that provides enough watts. Can you help me with that (again, above link)

And final question, will these two subs, if installed correctly with the amp you recommend, be louder than my previous 3 RF punch HE 10", and my current 2 RF punch HX2 10"? Reason I'm switchin is to get more SQ, at the same level SPL or more.

And can you please just help me and not rant and I will leave you alone when I get a good answer.

What is your budget on an amplifier? If you have 500 bucks to spend and it has to be on that site, I would recommend the Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1. You would have to wire your subs to a four ohm load and deal with 350 rms apiece, however.

That case isnt very efficient, and I did not see anything else that great on that website in terms of amplifiers. If you can get one somewhere else, check out Memphis mono amps and Xtant mono amps.

So the RF amps are no good?
A large number of people on here seem to be against RF and JL Audio for some reason. They think they are too expensive, and you can get more for your money if you don't buy top of the audio equip from JL or RF. However, if you want long lasting quality, go RF, especially with an amp, because I wouldn't trust Pheonix Gold. If you are going to spend . With that being said, if you are going to go with the Tantrum, you may as well spend the extra $80 and get the RF 1501bd, it pushes more watts, and always is rated higher then 1500 RMS. My 1501bd, for example, is rated at 1765 watts continuous RMS. It is bad ***.

Ok, i run RF's, the old old OLD versions. I also happen to think highly of PG.

Why NOT run PG's?

I had a PG amp about a year ago, I don't remember the model, don't remember what year it was. It got so hot that it left a huge burnmark underneath it. I bought it at a garage sale used for $10, so I got my $10 worth out of it.

ebay owns that site

that shi't is way overpriced, but anyway.. all the amps on that page are solid EXCEPT

Pyramid, Legacy, Pyle, Sound Storm

all the others will sound about the same... just check around for better prices on ebay
