if its the mtx81000d than your gonna need 1/0 gauge power wire, and if ur powering them type r's id be careful that 81000d puts out a crapload of power when run at 2ohm

My friend had it hooked up in his Explorer running 2 ohm, he had 2 thunder 8100D's he hit 145.6 db. so the subs can handle it

I had a 8100D and i never had a problem with 4 awg. There is no need for 1/0 awg cable in a system like this.

i just bought the same amp, and i have type r 15's 4 ohm though. i think i am goignt o try to install it today.
