Well I am tired of my job, looking for something a little more "fun" for now. I am a Construction Management Major and have had several jobs in the industry but I want to get something in Mobile Electronics just for fun. Where would you guys recommend. I have no on-paper experience, just done a little installing here and there. I can't really use my own car as a reference cause I never finish anything in it.

What are your recommendations?

I've applied at Best Buy and Circuit City....

Would local shops be worth trying? If so, anyone in DFW area know of some?

Circuit City isn't closed around here.

Also, like I said. This is not my major, not my "life goal" it's just for fun. And those two companies do not pay bad for their starting installers. And you get MECP certified through it sometimes.

Whether or not anyone thinks MECP is worth crap. Trust me, in business, on-paper experience is everything.

Plus if I can get my hands on some cheaper install accessories, I'm all for it.

You really need to spend less time on this site. I assume you're a Junior in college having declared a major. Why not finish it? The real world is cold Broseph. Make installs your hobby.

circuit city is only filing bankruptcy, they will be back. and be happy you have a job.
I am VERY grateful I have a job, the issue is, it is remodeling housing at the school I used to go to. So I don't want to take up a job opportunity that a current student there could use.

And I've spent a lot of time working for a General Contractor. I'm just ready to have some fun, I'm young and I probably won't get to do this again. If I can install and talk about Mobile Electronics for 40 hours a week for a few months, it'd be great.

Have you considered becoming a male giggalo?
I have but it just doesn't have the benefits I am looking for. Plus that's not the on-paper experience I'm looking for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
